ImpressCMS Fetcher

This project has a dedicated page in the downloads section… Go There Now

ImpressCMS is a project that I have been involved with for a long time. If you are not familiar with the project, it originated as a fork of XOOPS. Over the last year the project appears to have dwindled down to just a few users, but appearances can be deceiving. The devs have had their noses to the grinding wheel for over a year now completely refactoring the core. This was a huge endeavor, and they have done a remarkable job.

So, now that ICMS is about to blast off again, I decided I would write a little scriupt to fetch all of the files needed to install the system for you. I personally hate uploading, don’t you?

At any rate, this little script is pretty slick, but a little crude… All you do is drop it into the directory where you want to install ICMS and access it via your browser. Select the version of ICMS you want to grab and verify the path. Pending that you have a big boy server, the script will handle the rest.

Seriously though, if you are on a shared host, I would advise you to just not bother…

Enjoy.

Very nice script. Personally, I could see this evolve into a module that serves a need we all have : online installation and upgrade of modules.

Thanks for planting the first seed of that :-)

Bugfix: the name of the ImpressCMS 1.2.4 file is not correct. The ‘.zip’ at the end of the filename on line 111 shouldn’t be there.

    Works perfectly for me.
